Christ in our DNA art portfolio

We look at nature and we see God. His fingerprints are all over the stars, the sun, the sea, the mountains. It is easy for us to realise that the Universe is God's creation. However, we don't often look at the micro universe. Only scientists get to see cells and DNA; and yet, God also created biology. God is in our very DNA. I am embarking on an exploration of the things that we don't usually see: cells, DNA chains, algae, photons... Christ, the power of the Holy Spirit, the mystery of the Holy Trinity, the Transfiguration, hell...

The paintings below are for sale. Please contact me in the comments section or in the email address on my Work History page for further details.

Via, Veritas, Vita  2022
Acrylic on canvas 150x100 cm
On permanent display at St George's Catholic Church, Norwich (Nor for sale)
Where is He? God takes on our nature. God shares our biology. God lives in us.

Working on a DNA chain, Norwich 2024.
And as you go, proclaim: ‘The kingdom of heaven is near'. Mt 10,7 NCB

Resurrection 2025
Acrylic on canvas 80x60 cm
A painting based on the photographic image Jesus left on his burial shroud 2000 years ago. He is coming through the layers of paint. In a second or two, He will open his eyes!

Holy Trinity: Through the Colours 2024

Acrylic on canvas 100x100 cm

Light vibrates. Light reaches us and enters through the eyes. It moves us. What could express the idea of three persons in the one God? Three colours: one painting. Three colours: one idea. Three colours: one power. Three colours working together.

I Am the Light: Photons 2024 Acrylic on canvas, 80x60 cm
“I am the light of the world. The one who follows me will never walk in darkness. Rather, he will have the light of life.” John 8:12 NCB Christ on the surface of the sun. His light is stronger than the sun. He is the real light of the world.

Souls at Mt Calvary 2022 Acrylic on canvas 60x80 cm
We imagine a lonely Jesus at the cross, but he can't have been that lonely.

Wheel of Fortune 1 2023 Acrylic on canvas 50x50 cm
At 12 o'clock, the cup of life is full. Eventually, it will begin to empty. By 6 o'clock, it will be completely bare. At around 9, it will start to fill up again; and so the process repeats in our lives. What's important is to have Christ in the centre of our lives. He is our hope for the future.

Origins at St John's Cathedral 2020 Acrylic on canvas 76x51 cm
The origins and the end: The marble at St John's Cathedral in Norwich is formed by hundreds of thousands of crinoids and branchiopod fossils: the origins of biology. A building dedicated to Christ: the end of salvation history.

Origins: Cell Structures 2018 Acrylic on canvas 61x91 cm
Cells are programmed, and can store thousands of gigabytes of information. But, who programmed them?

Origins: The Pit 2019 Acrylic on canvas 76x50 cm
Sometimes we let ourselves fall deeper and deeper, until we can't see the way out. There is no Jesus in this picture. This painting contrasts with The Wheel of Life, where Christ is present even when we fall.

Cell Structures: The Flames of the Holy Spirit 2017 Acrylic on canvas 91x61 cm - SOLD
Even at the beginning, when biology was very simple, the Holy Spirit permeated everything.

DNA Chains I 2024 Acrylic on paper scroll 145x53 cm
God's imprint is everywhere you look, we are taught. So let's look at the building blocks of biology: DNA is programmed using a quaternary system; this code is then read and executed and gives birth to all living things. God's language in our very DNA.

Algae 2016 Acrylic on canvas 100x50 cm
We look at sunsets, the sky at night, the sea... And we see the hand of God, evidence of God's mind and power. But we often overlook the small things, so full of God too.

My exhibition at St John's Catholic cathedral, Norwich, July 2024
"I don't know what I'm doing: Only God knows". When you look back upon your achievements in life, you must realise that it wasn't you, but God. "I couldn't have done that", I think. And it is the same with my paintings: I look at them and think, "I can't have painted that". This happens because, when I paint, I let go and let Him take control.

Selling paintings and books at St John's Cathedral. December 2025.

St. Francis Receiving the Stigmata 2024
Digital illustration
Christ's stigmata seek Francis, but they also seek us.

Kidney Health Visual Aid 2024
Digital illustration
We pray for healing and we see Christ living in us. Together with Christ, we see her. We see her kidneys getting stronger and stronger. Through Jesus Christ our lord, we pray.
