The Hail Mary as a Franciscan meditation - Prayer card
Mary delivers Jesus to the world. Jesus is the gate to God. Mary is the key to God.

(We start at the bottom in order to show the elevating power of the prayer).

(Mary) pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of
our death.
Amen.
We want to hold the baby Jesus close to our hearts and never let go.
Please, Mary, pray for us so we can always walk hand in hand
with our Lord Jesus Christ.
Please let us be full of the Grace of the Holy Spirit, like you;
in the presence of God, like you;
Blessed with Jesus, like you; and keep us Holy and pure,
like you, forever.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,
“We are mothers (of Christ) when we carry Him in our heart
and body through the divine love
and a pure and sincere conscience, and give birth to Him
through a holy activity which must shine as an example before others.”²
We give birth to Jesus spiritually and are now face to face with him.
We kneel before our Saviour and thank him for coming to die for us.
We feel cleansed and full of the hope of the resurrection.

Blessed art thou amongst
women and blessed is the
fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
We conceive Jesus spiritually in our hearts and minds, nurturing
Him through a life of prayer and an evangelical ministry.
We jump for joy, just like John,
at the sight of this seed with its promise of salvation and spiritual growth.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
the Lord is with thee,
We say Yes to God's invitation to carry Jesus.
We long to be full of God's grace and we want to be in His presence.
“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour,
for he has looked with favour on his lowly servant.”¹
